Secondary Education/High School Programs

Secondary education degrees prepare individuals to work in high schools and middle or junior high schools. Secondary education degree programs can provide training for teachers, or for administrators, school counselors, or other education specialists. For secondary education degrees with a focus on teaching, individuals will often focus their training on a subject area, like math, English, or chemistry. Secondary education degrees are most often earned at the bachelor’s degree level, although advanced degrees in the field are also available. Most programs will enable individuals to earn a teaching certificate, which most schools require teachers to hold.
