Diesel Mechanic Programs
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), diesel mechanics, including bus and truck mechanics and diesel engine specialists, repair and maintain the diesel engines that power transportation equipment. It is important for diesel mechanics to have the ability to adapt to customers’ needs as technology changes in the industry. This is why training in a diesel mechanics degree is beneficial to students looking to enter this field. In school students will learn how to test, diagnose, and repair various diesel engines along with management skills needed to run a diesel mechanics shop. These programs can run anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.
